For the second year, Carson City’s Rice Street Tattoo will be hosting a Joy Drive through Dec. 21 to help families in need celebrate the holidays.

Carson City emergency crews respond to rollover near I-580 and US-50 East ramp

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday afternoon to a single vehicle rollover that happened near the off-ramp of I-580 and Highway 50 East.

Nevada enters into opioid litigation settlements with Walmart, American Drug Stores

CARSON CITY — Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford announced Tuesday that Nevada entered two additional opioid litigation settlements, bringing in tens of millions of dollars to assist with abating the opioid crisis in the state. Nevada will receive $32.2 million from a multistate settlement with Walmart and $1.5 million from a settlement — not negotiated as part of a multistate deal — with American Drug Stores. In addition, the Mallinckrodt bankruptcy plan has been finalized, resulting in $1.8 million for Nevada.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested Monday for misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor suspicion of violating a domestic violence temporary protection order, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report.

Happy ending found in Northern Nevada for puppies, mother dog rescued from abusive breeder

The Nevada Humane Society recently assisted in a large scale rescue effort of nearly 300 abused dogs and puppies in Nye County.

While many rescued dogs were taken to different parts of the country to rehabilitate or be adopted, many found their forever homes in our local region of Northern Nevada.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater and Living Stones Church will be having a holiday "Food, Glorious Food" drive coinciding with the second weekend of the musical "Oliver, JR!" being performed at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City. The drive benefits Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH.

State superintendent visits Carson City's Eagle Valley Middle School for Computer Science Week

In observance of Computer Science Education Week, Eagle Valley Middle School (EVMS) students were able to display their coding skills for Nevada Department of Education Superintendent Jhone Ebert Monday, Dec. 5. The activities highlighted computer programing efforts in Mr. Jeremy Smith and Mr. Mark Kuniya’s sixth and seventh grade classes (respectively).

Former Tahoe Biltmore site to be developed as Waldorf Astoria Lake Tahoe

The Tahoe Biltmore, owned by EKN Development of Southern California, will become the Waldorf Astoria Lake Tahoe according to an announcement of the new brand agreement made by Hilton Hotels on Monday. The new resort is expected to be completed by 2027.
