Nevada Day to Benefit Charity: Red's Old 395 Pancake Breakfast and Beers by the Bank

October 29, 2022 (All day) The Nevada Builders Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Nevada Builders Alliance, will host two events on Saturday, Oct. 29 during the annual Nevada Day Parade. The events include a Nevada Day breakfast buffet at Red’s Old 395 Grill from 6 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and the new “Beers by the Bank” next to Bank Saloon.

UPDATE: The area has been cleared and there is no threat. The device was verified as a novelty item, said Sheriff Furlong.

An unknown device found at a storage facility shed in the area of Saliman and 5th Street in Carson City prompted a precautionary evacuation of homes in the area early Thursday afternoon, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The Tubes "Outside Inside Tour" is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of their album that included their popular song "She's A Beauty" They will be performing at The Alpine in Reno on Oct. 27.

Between Horses and Humans chosen for Carson City Toyota’s Campagni Cares

The success of the Campagni Cares program truly relies on the community to bring forward valuable organizations in our area, teaching the community about the variety of resources and opportunities we have in our area.
This month, the selected recipient is truly unique: utilizing horses to teach vulnerable youth to become the most capable version of themselves. Through their programming, they are taught skills to help them cope with challenging life situations and experience a happier, healthier, more productive future.

Man in stolen vehicle eludes Lyon County deputies, found passed out after breaking into home

On October 12, 2022, at 1207 p.m., Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Detectives located a suspicious vehicle the parking lot of Pioneer Casino located at 1705 Highway 50 Alternate in Fernley. Detectives conducted surveillance of the vehicle determined that it was reported stolen.

Happy Thursday fellow Silver Staters as we begin to round the corner headed toward the weekend and ever closer to the Nevada Day celebratation in Carson City. October is a wonderful month as the days get shorter, the nights are cooler, the leaves are exploding in color and, of course, the annual Nevada Day Treasure Hunt is underway.
