League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, AAUW Capital (NV) Branch and Sierra Nevada Forums presented the second of four election forums of 2022 on Friday, Oct. 10 located at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

A 27-year-old Carson City jail inmate was booked Thursday for suspicion of battery by a prisoner following a fight Wednesday inside a detention center cell.
Nevada DMV will remain closed through Saturday due to internet outage

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Las Vegas and Reno will be closed Saturday, Oct. 15, following an outage caused by extensive damage to a fiber optic cable in Northern Nevada.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit is hosting its first Regional K9 Unit Challenge & Demo on October 15th at Fuji Park in Carson City from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It brings together K9 teams from numerous agencies across Northern Nevada, and we want all of you to join us!
Carson City Sheriff: Standoff on Edmonds ends with one in custody

UPDATE 10:39PM: One suspect is in custody Friday night after surrendering to the Carson City Sheriff's Office MOST team following a standoff in the 1300 block of North Edmonds. Residents can return to their homes. There were no injuries and no shots were fired, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office responded Friday evening to a person who barricaded himself in a residence after displaying an AK-47, according to Sherriff Ken Furlong.
