Fritsch and Fremont Elementary Schools hosted Walk to School Day in Carson City
Thanks to all the students and families who joined us for Walk to School Day events this week. Fremont Elementary School hosted their walk Wednesday while Fritsch Elementary School walked this morning.
International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school. It began in 1997, and over time, it has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration each October. Thousands of schools across the country participate every October.
Pedestrians and bicyclists should only cross streets when safe and always look for vehicles before and while crossing. Per state law, no U-turns or passing are allowed in active school zones or school crossing zones.
