Reports of fraudulent unemployment benefit claims coming into Carson City Sheriff's Office

The sheriff's office has forwarded those reports to the state of Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation and federal law enforcement agencies.

Carson City area weather: Storms to bring valley rain, Sierra snow to region through holiday weekend

Carson City, Quad County COVID-19 Wednesday update: 12 new cases, 52 additional recoveries

This brings the total number of cases to 10,954, with 8,408 recoveries and 197 deaths; 2,349 cases remain active.
Nevada unemployment Insurance phone messaging changes begin Thursday

Motorists re-directed in area of College Parkway, Airport Road as Sheriff's Office, bomb squad does safety check of box

Motorists around the area of College Parkway and Airport Road are being re-directed Wednesday afternoon following a safety check of an abandoned box located in the area. According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, it is a safety check and there is not a public threat. The Douglas County Bomb Squad has responded to facilitate the check.
