Nevada unemployment Insurance phone messaging changes begin Thursday
CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR), announced Wednesday that it will be making changes to its Unemployment Insurance phone messages beginning Thursday, Feb. 11 at 8 a.m. The changes are not expected to impact callers, but individuals may notice a change in message formatting, sequencing and style.
For example, a message may be in a different order or worded slightly different. Callers are advised to listen to the entire message prior to making a selection.
To file for regular or traditional unemployment in the State of Nevada, please use the online application available 24/7 at http://ui.nv.gov/css.html.
People unable to file online may file via telephone by calling a UI Claims Call Center between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, Northern UI Call Center: (775) 684-0350; Southern UI Call Center: (702) 486-0350; Rural areas and Out-of-State: (888) 890-8211.
Claimants are encouraged to file their UI claims online filing during non-peak hours, such as early mornings, nights or weekends. Filers are reminded, that to continue to receive benefits, claimants must file weekly. Individuals reaching out to the call center are encouraged to make attempts to contact DETR mid-week and mid-morning.
