Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national animal welfare nonprofit based in Carson City, Nev., received an $83,000 grant recently from the Lazin Animal Foundation, to provide financial assistance toward emergency veterinary care to more than 220 bully breed dogs in 2020.

Carson City area weather: High winds may bring more dust, poor air quality to region

Breezy northeast and east winds may result in another round of blowing dust Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Dust kicked up from nearby dry lake beds may produce localized areas of visibility reduced below 4 miles, including portions of Reno and Carson City.

Ten years of marriage

I was 19 he had just turned 30, we had known each other for six months and two weeks he stood at the alter in The Silver Queen Chapel in Virginia City. I walked down to my future so many things going through my head but knowing I would soon be married to my best-friend. Many people said that we would never last I was too young and we had no known each other long enough to make such a decision. We are coming up on our ten year anniversary we have two beautiful healthy children.
