So much for an early spring, Carson City. Depending on how much snow hits the valley floor, the Monday morning commute could take longer than usual, so please slow down and drive carefully. I wonder if they will be bringing a snow shovel to the Downtown Corridor Construction ground-breaking at 11 a.m.

Welcome to Wednesday, Carson City. Don’t just sit around and wait for the coming storm, get out and enjoy the day. Wander around with the Wellness Mile Walking Group; they meet at noon. Comma Coffee welcomes a new exhibit in their Backseat Gallery; they’ll introduce the new show at tonight’s Artist Reception. The Shipley’s return to Living the Good Life to host a music jam. You never know who will sit in with them, so enjoy the show.

Mondays aren’t always something special, but a day like this only comes once every four years. Happy Leap Day, everyone. Have a leisurely lunch at Comma Coffee while listening to Dennis on the Piano. Toast the day with a mimosa at Ed’s Doghouse. Raise your glass to for a good cause: Suds for Seniors is raising money for the Meals on Wheels Program. A $15 ticket will get you a sample of five beers at the Feisty Goat Pub or at the Firkin and Fox. Might as well stick around the Firkin for karaoke and some yummy grub.

A gorgeous day awaits. Take advantage of the sunshine with a lunchtime walk along the Carson Tahoe Wellness Trail. Michael Saloga is the presenter at this month’s Soup’s On! luncheon sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and will discuss how to raise the bar in 2016. If you’d prefer to raise a glass, head to the Firkin and Fox for their Founder’s Brewery Tap Takeover and try a new beer. Humphrey Bogart plays Sam Spade in the Maltese Falcon: catch this black and white classic on the big screen today at the Galaxy Theater.

Capital City Arts Initiative brings back it’s Nevada Neighbors Series with a talk by artist Zoe Bray inside the former BRIC building on East Proctor Street.

Better yet, take me out for some frozen yogurt at Yogurt Beach where you’ll find a fundraiser and walk-in sign-ups for Carson City Little League. Relay for Life is holding a fundraiser, as well. Head to Buffalo Wild Wings and let them know you’re there for Relay. Round out the Valentine’s Day weekend by singing some love songs: karaoke at Firkin and Fox is always a good time.

Comma Coffee is hosting a reception this evening for the January artist in their revolving Backseat Gallery, so head down at 5 p.m. for some finger food and the unveiling.
