AUDITIONS! Piper’s Players, a community theater based in Virginia City, Nevada, is holding auditions for this year's production of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Auditions will be held at Piper’s Opera House (12 B Street) on August 15 and 16 from 6p.m. – 8p.m. (Bring water – it’s a historical building.) Callbacks will be on August 20, between 6pm and 8pm.

Performances will be December 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16, 2018 at Piper's Opera House.

Honor Flight Nevada, a nonprofit organization that takes Silver State veterans to Washington, D.C. so they may visit memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices, held its Memorial Day pancake breakfast at Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno Monday.

A tribute ceremony at Lone Mountain Cemetery for our Nevadan veterans will begin at 1 p.m. A memorial for our Native American veterans begins at 10 a.m. at the cemetery across the street from the Stewart Indian School. Lend a hand to our various Veterans’ organizations this afternoon as they plant flags on the graves of those who served in the Lone Mountain Cemetery: many hands make light work.
