Vagina Monologues

I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Feb. 17 -18

Event Date:
February 17, 2018 (All day)
February 18, 2018 (All day)

There is absolutely a little bit of everything this weekend. There’s somewhere to volunteer, somewhere to eat some fundraising pancakes, join in an Asian New Year Lion Dance Parade, Beer Crawl in downtown Carson City, and get your Zumba on. I think the eclectic mix of happenings is one of my favorite things about our corner of the world. Whether it’s the International Film Festival, the Vagina Monologues, or telescope viewing at the WNC Observatory: you can’t tell me there is nothing to do.

SATURDAY:

Carson City Vagina Monologues this Friday through Sunday at Brewery Arts Center

This year, I am pleased to once again perform in and serve as hostess of the Carson City Vagina Monologues. This important monologue play, written by Eve Ensler to empower women, benefits Advocates to End Domestic Violence.

If you’d rather avoid the mud, check out the Champagne and Jewelry Show inside the bigger better Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery. Chocolate lovers should head to the Plaza Hotel for the annual AAUW Feast of Chocolate. Keep reading and have a great weekend.

There's live music with Brother Dan at Living the Good Life, comedienne Kat Simmons at the Carson Nugget, or the documentary on Bill Cunningham at the Nevada State Museum that may be enough to tempt you out. Please be careful, drive safely, and keep an umbrella handy. Keep your fingers crossed this storm passes quickly – a full moon and lunar eclipse at sunset are visible to those without cloudy skies.

February 13 and 14, Carson City women will take the stage in support of Advocates to End Domestic Violence by performing Eve Ensler’s groundbreaking monologue play, “The Vagina Monologues” in the Performance Hall at the Brewery Arts Center.
