Earthquakes in Sun Valley, Washoe Valley serve as reminder that Nevada is seismically active

But, more than 1,200 people filed “felt reports” following the magnitude 3.7 earthquake in Washoe Valley the night of June 6. The shaking is a gentle reminder that Nevadans live in the third most seismically active state in the nation, behind Alaska and California.

She makes excellent compost from fresh horse and chicken manures, which she combines with green vegetable, fruit and kitchen waste. She then turns it with her tractor. And, coming from a ranching family who grew their own food, she has an innate sense of how to garden successfully.

The BAC will be hosting food trucks every Wednesday this summer, starting June 19th and going until September 19th! The trucks will start serving at 5:30pm and go until 8:00pm. There will be a wide variety of food trucks, so everyone will be able to find something they love. There will be kid’s activities—including a bounce house—and performances from different musicians throughout the year.

Carson City area weather: Snow possible on valley floor Tuesday, rain showers into weekend
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 05/20/2019 - 2:54pmUPDATE 4:17PM: The National Weather Service in Reno, which had said snow levels were expected to fall to the valley floors, changed their forecast model late Monday afternoon, lessening the chances for any snow spillover to the valley floors. There's still a chance, but it is less than originally forecasted Monday morning.

The next round of storms moving into the region may actually be cold enough to bring snow showers down to the valley floors early Tuesday morning, including the Carson City and Reno areas, according to the National Weather Service.
