She represents the Northwest Division which includes Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Tazmanian Boxing debuts Carson City youth at recent USA Boxing event

Alfredo Carrasco Jr., and Jose Bedoy, got a chance to debut their boxing skills. Both displayed a lot of heart, skill and integrity, according to their trainers.

Welcome to Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 and the beginning of the President's Day weekend. Carson City schools are closed today and Monday for the holiday. Gusty winds and another round of snow is expected today so take notice and be careful on the roadways.
Nevada Enrichment Program offers free classes to the community

A series of storms is forecast to move into our region Saturday, dropping temperatures as well as rain and snow. As the photo suggests, rain in the morning is a sailor's warning, so batten down those hatches.
Three more Carson City teachers earn National Board Certification

The NBPTS is widely considered to be the highest professional recognition for educators and includes a 5 percent pay increase in acknowledgement of accomplished teaching.

The grant money provides out-of-school-time supports for at-risk students. Photo Finished art exhibit hosted by Capital City Arts Initiative
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 01/12/2019 - 9:13pmThe Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, "Photo Finished," at the Community Development Building (the Brick), 108 E. Proctor Street, Carson City. Eleven artists from Carson High School have work in the exhibit.
CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Thursday, Jan. 24, 5 to 6:30 p.m. (no longer January 17). The free exhibition is available to the public from January 14 to March 31, 2019, Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.
The artists are all students in Photography Instructor Kara Ferrin’s Advanced Photo class.
