Easy Walk Program: A different walk every week on Tuesdays. Walks are easy paced, on level ground, of approximately 1 hour duration, and of no cost to participants. Area students combine high school, college and internships to meet skilled worker demand
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/13/2016 - 10:24amWilliam Dakota Gershel and Timothy Ibarra, both seniors at Carson High School, have participated in Career and Technical Education programs since attending CHS as freshman. Ibarra participated in two years of auto technician courses and two years in auto body courses. Gershel experimented in a variety of CTE courses including culinary, web design and welding.
Carson High School CTE launches new manufacturing technologies program

UNR names Kerri Garcia Director of Communications at the University

Garcia will lead the University’s efforts in internal and external communications, media relations and will serve as the institution’s primary spokesperson.
Garcia, a 1992 graduate of the University who previously was Community Relations and Communications Manager with Microsoft in Reno, begins work on April 1.

We are looking for actors, singers, and dancers grades K-12, who will be cast to play all the classic characters including Alice, The White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, and of course, The evil Queen of Hearts – plus a host of other colorful characters.
Carson City mayor, wife to christen USNS Carson City fast transport

Vice Adm. Joseph P. Mulloy, deputy chief of Naval Operations, Integration of Capabilities and Resources, will serve as principal speaker. Susan Asbury Crowell, wife of the Honorable Robert Crowell, Mayor of Carson City, Nev., will serve as the ship’s sponsor. In a time-honored Navy tradition, she will give the order to “man our ship and bring her to life!”
SolidWorks 3-D software class offered through Western Nevada College

Telegraph Square in downtown will be hopping with a Santa parade, vendors, and a pirate ship, in addition to great shops. The Brewery Arts Center is hosting a weekend-long art sale with one of a kind options throughout the campus. Art is a great gift, and making it is even more fun. Meet at 9:00am at the Morgan Mill parking lot for the full hike, about 12.75 miles roundtrip. For those who wish to do a partial hike you can meet us at Hidden Meadows Trailhead parking area at 965 Buzzy's Ranch Road, or the entrance to Silver Saddle Ranch on Carson River Road, or at the barn in Silver Saddle Ranch.
