V&T Railway offers family-friendly, Halloween-themed spooky railbike rides

Running Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 31, V&T Railway will offer children and adult focused haunted railbike rides at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

Carson City Polar Express 2020 aboard V&T train canceled, replaced with Drive-Thru Village

In its place, V&T Railway will host Santa’s Drive-Thru Village, a socially distanced holiday event, Dec. 11-13 and Dec. 18-24.
Placer County is Open for Responsible Outdoor Travel from Carson City this Fall

The American Cancer Society is hosting a poker run Saturday at Mills Park, and a free lacrosse clinic for kids ages 6-12 will be held at John L. Harvey Field. The Nevada Humane Society is virtually hosting its annual “Adopt a Duck” fundraiser for interested participants. As with prior seasons, the 2020 season will include vintage steam train rides from Carson City to Virginia City, Toast of the Canyon wine and beer trains and the popular Polar Express in addition to other themed and special event trains.
Carson City sued for $15 million after it refuses to allow hemp-production in Buzzys Ranch area

Tahoe Hemp is suing for $15 million in damages citing the city broke its agreement with the Jarrard Family Trust, which gives rights to the family to use the property for agricultural purposes.

Junior Jacob Tack ran 20:16, good for 91st place, he was followed by Sophomore Aaron Waite who covered the scenic wooded course in 20:55 (105th), and Freshman Flynn Scheibe was 119th in 22:10. In the girls race three young Falcons flew through the rolling course in tight formation.
