Carson City emergency crews called crashes on I-580 near Fairview, South Carson and on Clearview

UPDATE 7PM: According to NHP, there were two crashes that happened this evening in the area of I-580 and Fairview, northbound lane just after 5:30 p.m. Both crashes were non-injury, however, northbound I-580 was closed briefly. It was re-opened at around 7 p.m. Meanwhile, CCSO reports separate crashes that happened later, just after 6 p.m. One in the 4300 block of South Carson and the other, off of Clearview. Both crashes were non-injury but did affected traffic. The cause of all the crashes are under investigation.

National’s Cafe Sushi Bar, which closed their previous location of 15 years on North Carson Street in Carson City, is reopening at their new William Street location sometime in early April.

NHP: One northbound I-580 lane opened near Bowers Mansion after fatal Galena Bridge crash

UPDATE 8:40PM: The Nevada Highway Patrol reports one lane of northbound I-580 is now open north of the Bowers Mansion exit. Traffic is moving slowly past the scene of the fatal crash. NHP urges motorists to watch for first responders and drive with extreme caution.

UPDATE 8:06PM: Nevada Highway Patrol troopers remain on scene Thursday night at the fatal crash on the Galena Bridge. There are approximately 10-15 vehicles involved with one confirmed fatality. There is not an estimated time for reopening northbound I-580. NHP advises motorists to use alternate routes.

Northbound Interstate 580 at mile marker 12 in Washoe County near the Galena Bridge is closed Thursday night due to a fatal crash at the Bowers Mansion exit, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

The Carson City Aquatic Facility has been closed to the public for about six weeks while updates and renovations took place. The pool was re-opened without much fanfare Tuesday with a grand reopening and free community swim set for Saturday to celebrate the completion, including a dive in family-friendly movie.

UPDATE 3:17PM: Road closures now span US 395 beginning at Holbrook Junction (north of Topaz Lake) to Bridgeport, and CA SR 108 is closed from US 395 to the Tuolumne County line.
