Volunteer fire engines in the East Fork Fire Protection District were also released. East Fork and BLM brush units remain in fire start areas.

As it has been over the past few days, showers and thunderstorms have developed Monday afternoon over the Sierra, with an increased chance of storms expected to impact much of the region though the evening, according to the National Weather Service. The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center released findings Wednesday from its annual Lake Tahoe Clarity Report, which showed In 2019 the lake's famed clarity decreased nearly 8 feet from the previous year’s dramatic 10-foot improvement.
