Lightning strikes cause multiple fire starts in Douglas County
UPDATE 5:30PM: A brush unit from Carson City Fire Department, called for a mutual assist in Douglas County, has been called back to quarters as East Fork Fire Protection District indicates it may have a handle on the lightning sparked wildfires earlier. Volunteer fire engines in the East Fork Fire Protection District were also released. East Fork and BLM brush units remain in fire start areas.

East Fork Fire Protection District and Carson City Fire Department were called Tuesday afternoon to multiple wild land fires, likely caused by lightning strikes.
Firefighters were dispatched to the Johnson Lane and Fish Springs areas, according to Douglas County dispatch.
The fire in the Johnson Lane area was said to be between 2 and 3 acres as of around 5 p.m. Firefighters report rain in the area that had moved into the area, helping aid in efforts to put down flames.
Other brush units were called to the Fish Springs area for a reported fire. It is unclear at this time the status of the fire, but there didn't appear to be any structures threatened. Rain also moved into the area.
There were also reports of a wild land fire in the Pine Nut Creek Road and Pine Nut Road area but firefighters were unable to locate.
Multiple lightning strikes were reported around the area just after 4 p.m., as well as some scattered pockets of rain.
Meanwhile, Carson City Fire Department sent a brush unit to a fire reported at around 4 p.m. in the Galena area in Washoe County.
