DAYTON, Nev. — The wind blew from the opposite direction and temperatures dropped in the second round of Stage One Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club. And players felt the effect as scores rose higher than in the first round and the veteran players in the field took advantage.

Former Nevada Wolf Pack golfer Kaleb Gorbahn of Reno shot a 3-under 69 for an 8-under 280 total to grab second place behind field leader Lorens Chan in the final round of Stage One Web.com Tour Qualifying held at Dayton Valley Golf Club.

DAYTON, Nev. — Lorens Chans of Los Angeles, Calif. shot the low round of the tournament with a 6-under par 66 to break a 4-way log jam and take the 36-hole lead in Stage One Web.com Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club. Chans is at 8-under, 136 total.

DAYTON — Eric Onesi of Bear, Delaware fired a final round 5-under 67 to finish as low qualifier at 21-under for the tournament and lead a group of 24 qualifiers who advance from Stage One Web.com Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club.

DAYTON — David Vanegas of Medellin, Colombia shot a 5-under par 67 to take the 54-hole lead at 18-under 198 in the Stage One Web.com Tour Qualifier at Dayton Valley Golf Club on Thursday.

DAYTON — A trio of golfers playing their first competitive round at Dayton Valley Golf Club share the first round lead in the Stage One Web.com Tour Qualifying tournament. Amateur Cameron Davis of Sydney, Australia, Steven Fox of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Gavin Green of Selangor, Malaysia all fired 6-under par 66 to lead the field of 74 players.

The Carson City Host Lions Club held its inaugural Pitch, Putt and Sip recently at Silver Oak Golf Course. It was a successful event made possible by General Manager Terrie McNutt and PGA Pro Robert Mason along with their staff.

This golf event was a social event and not a competitive links style tournament. There were 44 people who participated in the creative golf tournament. There were three teams that won first, second and third place.

Randall Hutchison, Orlando, Fla., tied the course record Thursday with a 10-under par 62 to take a two-stroke lead with a 17-under 199 total after 54-holes of Web.com Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club in Nevada. Second round leader Nick Delio, Valencia, Calif., carded a 6-under 66 for second with a 15-under 201 total.

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of child abuse after allegedly hitting and punching two juveniles, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Michael Todd Presley was arrested at 9:10 p.m. in the 4500 block of Short Putt Drive. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers were called to Governor’s Field at 4:15 p.m. regarding a report of suspected child abuse.
