A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3300 block of S. Carson Street Thursday afternoon for domestic battery.

A 26-year-old Reno man was arrested Friday night for possession of stolen license plates, driving with a suspended license, a parole and probation hold and obstructing an officer.

Rudy Alexander Jimenez was taken into custody at 7:46 p.m. According to the report, deputies scanned Jimenez’s car and it returned with a stolen license plate warning from dispatch.

Carson City arrests: Man jailed after ramming patrol vehicle following pursuit

A Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor evading police and reckless driving following a pursuit with sheriff's deputies that ended at a storage facility.

Reno Police Department to conduct training exercises off of Koontz Lane

The Reno Police Department will be conducting training exercises Monday in the 700 block of Koontz Lane in Carson City. Residents and motorists may see police activity in the area. It is training exercises.

Carson City Sheriff's Office engages in police chase Saturday morning

UPDATE 10:03 a.m.: Deputies have one in custody after the chase led to a Colorado Street storage facility. According to deputies, while they were in pursuit, the driver of the vehicle pulled up to the gate, entered in the code, and pulled in. Deputies followed the vehicle in the storage facility. The vehicle then rammed another vehicle; whether it was a deputies’ vehicle is unclear at this time.

The suspect was taken into custody and is being transferred to the Carson City Jail. They remain uncooperative, according to deputies.

Carson City deputies called to residence on report of an ‘agitated’ man with a gun, children inside

UPDATE 8:59 p.m.: The baby has been rescued with no injuries and the man is no longer a threat, according to law enforcement on scene. N. Edmonds is still closed for traffic but residents should be allowed back into their homes shortly

NHP: Northern Nevada DUI strike team nets 24 arrests

The Nevada Highway Patrol, Reno Police Department, and Sparks Police Department combined resources July 26 through 28, 2019, to conduct regional DUI enforcement. Over the course of two days, the multi-agency Northern Nevada DUI Strike Team patrolled in discreetly-marked ‘ghost’ vehicles during the hours of increased impaired driving rates in an effort to detect and apprehend impaired drivers.

A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested by the Tri-County Gang Unit withe the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team, on five felony charges, one gross misdemeanor charge, and three misdemeanor charges after he allegedly committed felony domestic battery.

According to the report, David Sanchez is the president of the Deadly Sins Motorcycle Club Carson City Nevada chapter and he is associated with the Vagos Motorcycle Club and was arrested in the 900 block of Woodside Drive early Friday morning.

Suspects named in South Lake Tahoe bomb scare, arrests made following FBI investigation

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A lead from the Las Vegas FBI led law enforcement to South Lake Tahoe to confront what they thought to be a woman intent on harming herself and perhaps others with a bomb.

Second subject in custody in relation to bomb threat

UPDATE 7:08 p.m. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office issued the following statement:

Regarding the Vikingsholm incident. SLTPD located the man who was outstanding. There is no one else currently being looked for. El Dorado County is still handling the suspicious device on highway 89.

UPDATE 6:36 p.m.: The subject was transported by South Lake Tahoe Police from the scene. The backpack has yet to be located and Raley’s will be closed for at least the next few hours.

Carson Deputies assist in multi-agency chase of woman with bomb allegedly strapped to her chest

UPDATE 6:15: A second subject in relation to the multi-agency chase of a woman who allegedly had a bomb strapped to her chest is now in custody following a SWAT and Tactical raid of an Emerald Bay grocery store.

According to South Lake Tahoe dispatch, a hitchhiker was identified by a witness, and was corroborated by a California State Park Ranger.

The man is in custody and the SWAT Team is currently sweeping the store for packages. It is reported that the man previously was carrying a backpack but one was not found on his person when he was taken into custody.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m.:

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office issued the following statement:

Minden, Nevada- On July 26, 2019 at approximately 2:00 pm, a motor vehicle was being followed by an area Task Force. The subjects inside the motor vehicle had felony warrants and prior evading law enforcement arrests. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was requested to shut down the area of SR 207 (Kingsbury Grade) and Foothill Road, Gardnerville, Nevada in anticipation the suspects were driving on SR 207 eastbound.

The suspects changed their direction and drove into South Lake Tahoe, Ca. One of the suspects was arrested in California.

DCSO has no further information at this time.

Police and deputies from multiple regional units, including Carson City deputies, assisted on a chase of a woman who allegedly had a bomb strapped to her chest on Friday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., several Carson City and Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies were seen ascending Spooner towards the lake who were, according to a Douglas County official, assisting with a chase of a woman who allegedly had a bomb strapped to her chest.

Carson City deputies arrest pair after drugs found in car reported stolen from deaf couple

Two were arrested Sunday for felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery that the vehicle stopped not only had drugs and paraphernalia inside but had been reported stolen, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report said.

University of Nevada students to be housed in Circus Circus tower following July 5 dorm explosion

The University of Nevada has announced that students who were set to be put up in the Argenta Dormitory at the Reno campus will now be relocated to a tower at Circus Circus following the July 5 explosion that destroyed a good amount of the building and left a handful of students with minor injuries.

In addition, the resident dining facility on the first floor of Argenta, in which all dormitory students with paid meal plans eat during the year for most meals, was also damaged and will remain closed for the next academic year.

RPD is investigating a body found in hotel room under 'suspicious circumstances'

Officers from the Reno Police Department are currently investigating a body of suspicious circumstances found at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino early this morning.

According to the Reno Police Department, officers were dispatched to the casino around 2 a.m. to the report of a body being found in suspicious circumstances on the 19th floor of the hotel.

UPDATE 5:00 p.m.: Officials are now calling it a “mechanical failure.” Crews continue to search the wreckage for anyone who may be trapped. All streets within a half mile of the campus are closed.
