A man accused of kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a minor appeared in court in Carson City Friday for his preliminary hearing.

Carson City Senior Judge John Tatro presided over the hearing of Kahlil Deshaun Williams, who is being accused of kidnapping, attempted sexual assault of a minor under 14, lewdness with a minor under 14, and false imprisonment.

UPDATE Wednesday: Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve has lifted a curfew that began Tuesday. The city is working on putting into place a modified plan that would limit large gatherings to 50-plus people, a city spokesman said in a Tweet.

Out of an abundance of caution for public safety, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve has issued citywide curfews beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. The curfew will be in effect nightly from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning and will continue until terminated by Mayor Schieve.

For more than 15 years, Lisa Davis served as the DARE officer for Carson City. Her last day is Thursday as she and her husband Bob will be relocating to Oregon. She leaves Carson City with many accomplishments in providing children guidance and away from falling into the trap of alcohol and drugs.

UPDATE 7:38AM SUNDAY: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports there were no incidents of vandalism overnight in Carson City. He said the city was staffed and well prepared and noted some officers were sent to assist Reno police there.

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2900 block of Mayflower Way Thursday night for domestic battery second.

Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. Gov. Steve Sisolak made Nevada one of the first states to enter a state of partial lockdown last Tuesday as an emergency step meant to stem the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, enforcing a closure of the state’s casinos and urging other non-essential businesses to close their doors for 30 days.

Three were arrested Saturday for suspicion of child neglect and endangerment among other charges after a baby was brought into the hospital emergency room for ingesting methamphetamine, a Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team arrest report states.
