Charters of Freedom Carson City setting completed, donations sought

A display of the Charters of Freedom — etched replicas of the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights — can now be viewed by the public at the Carson City Courthouse located at 885 East Musser Street, said local project organizer Chuck Slavin.

CASA hosts March 1 volunteer information and training hour

Currently, there are over 100 children in the Carson City child welfare system. Less than 20 of those children are headed towards reunification with their parents.

Looking for a way to contribute to your community children? Can you dedicate, on average, 8-10 hours a month to help advocate what's in the best interest of a local child?

CASA of Carson City represents the best interest of children that have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect and/or abandonment.

We need volunteers to be the eyes and ears for our juvenile court judges; someone to represent the best interest of the child and to solely focus on the child's well being, wants and needs.

No experience needed. Must be 21 or older and have a passion for children.
