Reno’s Renown Medical Center has branched into the capital city with its new Urgent Care, located at 2814 N. Carson Street next to the Eagle Valley Medical Center.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new location Tuesday morning. In addition, according to Mark Beauchamp of Shahren Beauchamp Builders, who were the general contractors on the Urgent Care, a Primary Care Facility will be opening mid-May in South Carson, near Starbucks.

A support group is restarting in Carson City for family members who have loved ones struggling with addictions. The group will meet at a new location on Tuesday nights, 6 p.m. at Partnership Carson City meeting room at 1925 N Carson St.

Squeeze In’s new Carson City location officially opened for business Thursday, with net proceeds from their opening day going to the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada.

After serving up sushi to the Carson City community for 15 years, Nationals Cafe Sushi Bar has closed its doors. According to a sign on their front door, they are potentially looking for a new location.

Their last day of business was Feb. 1. The telephone number has been disconnected and signs have been taken down.

PokeDoke, Carson City’s first ever Poke restaurant, opened Feb. 4 at their new location on Topsy Lane.

The restaurant is a collaboration between master sushi chefs Osu Kwon, the man behind Reno’s Hiroba and Carson City’s Tomo, and Master Chef Marlon Alvarado.

The long-awaited new Carson City Squeeze In location will be holding their grand opening with a fundraiser for the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada on Thursday, Feb. 28.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new location of Intimate Designs (ID) Floral Wednesday night, with Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell doing the honors.

CARSON CITY AND DOUGLAS COUNTIES- The Salvation Army is collecting Christmas Toys for disadvantaged children. As this year’s campaign finishes up the Army is running short on gifts for middle school and high school boys and girls.

CARSON CITY — The Salvation Army will be providing a Christmas food basket to families and individuals in need and toys for children 0-17 years old. All those wishing to receive assistance must register either Thursday or Friday.

Smart Foodservice Warehouse will officially open to the public this Saturday at its new location in south Carson City, 222 Fairview Drive, and a "business preview day" will be held Friday for local business owners.
