The Nevada Department of Transportation is alerting drivers and organizations to prepare for an upcoming change to exit numbers on Interstate 580 between the Reno spaghetti bowl and northern Carson City.

CARSON CITY — Following an earthquake which hit the Carson City area on Friday, March 20, the Nevada Department of Transportation inspected bridges for potential damage. No bridges were found to have visible damage relating to the earthquake.

On Friday, March 13, Carson City resident Sena Loyd filed as a candidate for State Assembly District 40. Loyd, 36 and a registered Democrat, is an information professional currently working in the high-tech industry. Previously she served as the Library Director for the Carson City Library from 2014-2019.

NDOT continues essential highway services, transitions business services online

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation continues to fulfill all essential public highway services, including roadway maintenance and construction. Following Gov. Steve Sisolak’s direction and public health guidelines, the Department has transitioned to online business services and protocols as a proactive measure to help reduce spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

NDOT seeks public input on update to rural transit services management plan

CARSON CITY — With well over half of a million rides provided each year by Nevada’s rural transit operators, the Nevada Department of Transportation is inviting public input on an update to its State Management Plan which defines how federal transit funding is administered. This funding represents the majority of the budget transit operators use to provide much-needed transit services to rural areas of the state.

Carson City supervisors to tackle water rate hike, pot dispensary hours and Halloween calendar change

CARSON CITY — Single lane closures will take place on eastbound U.S. 50 in east Dayton this Thursday, Feb. 27 as the Nevada Department of Transportation repairs roadside guardrail damaged in a crash.

Q&D Construction Leads Major Projects in Carson City

NDOT: Brief lane closures in downtown Gardnerville ahead of repaving work

Beginning Monday, Jan. 27 through early February, drivers will see brief overnight lane closures on U.S. 395 through downtown Gardnerville as the Nevada Department of Transportation begins preliminary utility surveying in advance of a future project to repave the highway.

NDOT to put up new flashing yield signs at some Carson City freeway on-ramps

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Transportation is advising motorists of new flashing yield signs being tested and activated on certain Interstate 580 Carson City Freeway on-ramps beginning Wednesday, Dec. 18.

The new yield signs located at the base of both northbound and southbound I-580 on-ramps from College Parkway and U.S. 50 East, William Street feature flashing yellow beacon lights at the top.
