A celebration of the Irish, Scottish and Welsh people who helped to settle Carson Valley will offer a day filled with entertainment and activities for all ages.

I can’t anticipate what this storm system will throw at us, so some of these planned events could get cancelled. One event that is never afraid of Mother Nature is the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk. Come rain, shine, or blizzard, you’ll find can sip, stroll, and discover starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Carson Hot Springs aren’t afraid of a little snow, and a special visit from Megan the Mermaid will make the icy hot experience more memorable. 'Phantom of the Opera' in outstanding production in Carson City
Submitted by admin on Mon, 11/07/2011 - 7:34pmStephanie Arrigotti has been directing and producing shows for the Western Nevada Musical Theater Company at WAC for several years and every year she brings greater casts and more entertaining shows to the Community Center in Carson City. Friday night she opened "The Phantom of the Opera" to an enthusiastic audience with possibly the biggest first-night numbers in the theater group's history.
And the audience got what it came for — a beautifully staged and directed show with a cast of very talented actors.
Thousands attend Carson City Rendezvous; event continues through Sunday
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 06/11/2011 - 2:58pmWith enough cannon fire, frontier food and Wild West living history to pack a weekend's worth of activities, the 28th annual Carson City Rendezvous continues today, tonight and through Sunday at Mills Park in Carson City.
The Carson City Rendezvous is noted for portraying the lifestyle of early Nevada settlers, with a host of gun skirmishes, mountain man encampments and trapping demonstrations. This year the main demonstration of the Civil War-era gun battles has been moved from afternoon to dusk to better capture the backdrop of live-fire, rounds shot from muskets and cannons.
Carson City Rendezvous celebrates Wild West history, Civil War-era living

The 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's presidential inauguration is just one of many new events for the free three-day Civil War-era living history set at Mills Park, according to a news release issued by the Carson City Visitors Bureau.
The opening ceremony will be a special re-enactment of the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, the nation’s 16th president, at Mills Park on Saturday at 10 a.m.
