In addition to many options for Mother’s Day gifts in their garden center and gift shop, they’re also hosting an outdoor rummage sale on Saturday, May 13 from 9 am-5:30pm, with all proceeds going to Healthy Communities Coalition’s food pantries.

Trapped under capsized boat on Lake Mead, 3-year-old safely rescued by Nevada game warden

Early morning fliers take to Carson City skies this Mother's Day
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 05/10/2020 - 8:30amOn Sunday morning a pair of balloonists meandered across the skies of Carson City. Coming from the southeast they were eventually lost behind the trees heading toward Silver Oak Golf Course.
The balloonists were able to get in a last good view over Carson City on Mother's Day and ahead of a change in the weather beginning Monday.

It was the eulogy I wrote for and delivered at my father's funeral on June 30, 2012.

Get tickets now if you'd like to catch their production, they are known for sold-out shows. Funnel cakes, Ferris Wheels, and more are waiting for you at Mills Park. A carnival is a great way to help Mom celebrate her special day.

Strap on a helmet and join some of our town’s notables on a ride through the historic west side. Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery is holding a reception for Jean Kvam, whose oils, pastels, and pottery will be on prominent display. The Historical Societies in Dayton and Douglas County are hosting lectures this evening: you just have to decide between learning about the Nevada Women’s Project or artist Hans Mayer Kassel.

The annual Relay for Life relay is just around the corner, and the Pizza Factory on Highway 50 is helping out the cause by donating a portion of tonight’s proceeds to the organization. Mother’s Day is coming up fast and the Carson Mall would like to lend a hand. You’ll find a vendor craft fair set up all week to help you find something special. Community Yogi has yoga classes for all levels at various locations throughout the week.

For the 2017-2018 school year, a staff of 47 was dedicated to making a memorable book for others to keep throughout their lives and be passed down through generations; and again the book received the Gallery of Excellence Award, in which the book is used as an example of a successful yearbook in schools and at conferences across the country.
Elks Lodge hosts Mother's Day Champagne Brunch

Brunch menu features herb scrambled eggs, ham, pastry trays, fruit platter, quiche, cheese tray, coffee, and adult beverages. Champagne for adults over 21.
Cost is $12 per person.

Let me tell you, downtown is going to be hopping, not to mention the Early Season Farmers Market making its seasonal debut in the parking lot at W. Musser and N. Nevada – just behind Due Sorella. Take the kids down to Bailys Pond at Fuji Park for the annual Tom Brooks Memorial Kids’ Fishing Day. A trip to the train museum comes with the opportunity to ride on the Historic McKeen Motor Car.
