Nevada governor implements evictions moratorium through March 31

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak signed and issued an emergency directive Monday that implements a moratorium on most residential evictions in Nevada through March 31, 2021.

Friday is KTVN's 'Share your Christmas' Food Drive at Governor's Mansion, Carson Valley Inn, Grand Sierra Resort

KTVN will host its annual Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive this Friday, Dec. 11 with food drop-off locations in Carson City, Minden and Reno beginning at 6 a.m. and running until 6 p.m.

Local realtor seeks donations for Carson Valley Food Closet; hopes to raise $1,000 to provide food for local families

GARDNERVILLE — RE/MAX Realty Affiliates of Gardnerville, Realtor Ginger Easley is working once again to raise funds for the Carson Valley Food Closet.

Easley has raised thousands of dollars for the food closet, along with hundreds of pounds of food through annual client gatherings and online fundraisers since 2016.

Multiple fires burning near I-80 in Wadsworth area

UPDATE 5:10PM: The fires are 80 percent contained, and burned around 30 acres. A number of power poles were damaged, according to Truckee Meadows Fire. The cause is under investigation.

An early morning fire in Lovelock has destroyed multiple buildings, according northern Nevada TV news stations. The fire has been knocked down and crews are cleaning up and assessing. No injuries have been reported.

Estimates are around 1,500 people attended the rally held at the Carson City MAC center.

Wildfire near Topaz Ranch Estates 40 percent contained, full containment by Saturday

UPDATE: Fire officials said Thursday the Canyon Fire is 40 percent contained and burned around 440-acres. Full containment is expected by Saturday.

UPDATE 8PM: Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says the Temelec Fire, now contained, was likely caused by a car fire. Multiple agencies responded including Carson City Fire Department, BLM, Reno Fire Department, Sparks Fire Department, and the U.S. Forest Service. Four aircraft supported fire suppression. Officials say the aim is to have northbound I-580 at Bowers Mansion opened by 8:30 p.m.

Shooting suspect leads NHP, Douglas and Carson City on high speed pursuit

UPDATE 3:20PM: KTVN Channel 2 is reporting that the suspect caught in Douglas County following a vehicle pursuit was a possible suspect in a shooting that happened in Reno. It was previously reported via law enforcement agencies and alerted through dispatch that the suspect was wanted for homicide. Reno Police tells KTVN that the victim is being treated at the hospital at this time.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested after he hit a deputy with his car on Saturday near a Dayton casino causing minor injuries to the officer, according to KTVN Channel 2.

Reno police officer released from the hospital

UPDATE: The officer injured during an altercation with another man on Wednesday has been released from the hospital, said Reno Police Chief Jason Soto. The officer was released from the hospital on Thursday, RPD spokesman Travis Warren said. No other information was available.

A Reno Police officer suffered possible life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning after being involved in an officer

The officer and suspect were taken to the hospital where Reno police have said the officer may have life-threatening injuries.
