Students speak out in support of professor Tom Kubistant, whose human sexuality class has come under fire after a complaint by a student. They contradict Karen Royce's claim that they were required to masturbate. An independent investigator ruled that Royce's complaint was unfounded. For her part, Royce says she feels vilified for speaking out, and may appeal. Ron Knecht, member of the state Board of Regents and former Republican Assemblyman, says he's investigating this class, too, and feels it might cross the line between education and therapy.

Woman's complaint about WNC sex class gets the TV treatment

KRNV Reno picked up on the story about Karen Royce, the student at Western Nevada College who complained about a human sexuality course where she said she was required to masturbate. (Check out the comments at the end of both of those links to hear from other students who think about the scandal.)

Here is video of the story:

The story also was mentioned on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, though he referred to WNC as "Western Nevada University." Congrats, WNC, Leno just gave you a promotion!

A WNC student is alleging the course requirements issued by the instructor of a human sexuality class constitute sexual harassment.

One assignment given by instructor Tom Kubistant that 60-year-old student Karen Royce took exception to was to masturbate at twice her usual rate and write about the experience.
