The first annual Fill A Trailer Kids Toy Drive is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Martin Auto Color, 2765 U.S. Highway 50 East in Carson City.

Goal of the event is to gather as many toys and children's clothing items for all ages as possible; enough to fill a 14-foot utility trailer to the top.

Unwrapped gifts would be much appreciated. Canned goods are also welcomed.

This event, hosted by J.T. and Friends, is in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys For Tots and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center.

Hello and good day Carson City. We are headed into Friday, Dec. 7, 2018. The weekend is nearly here and your continued generosity never ceases to amaze. Ahead Friday is the annual KTVN Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive held locally at the Governor's Mansion and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn. It is also the 6th annual Project Empty Bowls at Carson Mall, which has become a local soup for the soul favorite stop.

The Dayton urgent care has their Angel tree up for Dayton families that are in need. This is our third year of having an Angel tree to help out families in the community. We are asking the people in this great community to help us out again, to come down and choose an Angel off of our tree.

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City is hosting holiday gift making classes for children ages 8-15 in two, one week sessions in December.

For most, waking up this morning to rain was a big relief given the fire situation over the past few months. Today is Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018. The Carson City Chamber continues to search for new items for their artisan store to launch in time for holiday gift giving. This year, the Chamber partnered with Silver State Industries to introduce the first in several series of collector’s puzzles featuring iconic Carson City scenes.

The Salvation Army serving Carson City and Douglas County is in need of turkeys for needy families in the area this holiday season and will host its annual turkey drop this Friday at Max Casino.

The Nevada Day Show art exhibit is open at the Nevada Artists Association's gallery located at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City. Meanwhile, students are invited to participate in the upcoming Holiday Art Show, which will open Dec. 1.
