Pioneer High School staff showed their appreciation for parents with a drive-thru breakfast that was held last month.
John Corbitt, PHS math teacher thought that spirits could be lifted by doing something special for the parents of PHS students.

Each October, Nevadans turn their attention to the state capitol, Carson City, home of the “official” Nevada Day Parade. Since 1938, the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City has been an annual coming together to celebrate Nevada’s heritage and the founding of this great state on October 31, 1864.

North Carson City Yogurt Beach to close, East William Street location remains open

The North Carson Street location of Yogurt Beach will close permanently this Wednesday, however the newest location on East William Street, will remain open.

Carson Mall hosts Friday Night Car Cruise

Carson Mall in Carson City will host a Cruise Night from 5 to 7 p.m. this Friday night, July 19. The cruise will be in the same area as Dutch Brothers. Organizers ask for a donation of non-perishable food. The cruise is open to all makes and models. Call 775-671-8150 for information.

Where to start? This weekend is chock-full of options. The local 4-H club is hosting their annual Fabric and Rummage Sale at Fuji Park. The Annual Feast of Chocolate, hosted by AAUW, is Saturday afternoon at the Plaza Event Center. The Vagina Monologues and One Billion Rising are both raising awareness this V-Day weekend for women’s issues.

Sportsman's Warehouse set to open today

The new Sportsman's Warehouse store in the Carson Mall will be opening today, three days earlier than scheduled.

A worker at the store said at 10:15 today that they would be opening in one or two more hours.

The store was initially set to open on Monday.

Also, the newly relocated Dutch Brothers Coffee will be opening tomorrow at 5 a.m.

December's Empty Bowls Project in Carson City raises more than $2,700 for FISH

The Empty Bowls project, a locally organized fundraiser that culminated at the Carson City Silver and Snowflake Festival on Dec. 6 and was initiated to bring awareness of local hunger issues, raised $2,722.35 for Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, which feeds, houses and provides services for more than 20,000 people in Carson City annually.

Organizers for Tiffani Barber fundraiser thank local businesses, community

The Carson City community banded together to help Tiffani Barber and raised over $3000.00 in silent auction items at High Sierra Brewery on Monday, January 21st. This would not have been possible without the community support. The Carson City community members and businesses generously donated items and have supported the Barber family through this difficult time.
