The celebratory crowds in the Stateline, Round Hill and Zephyr Cove areas of Lake Tahoe were large and with exception of a few altercations in the downtown Casino Core area, Nevada Beach and Zephyr Cove Beach, the crowd was relatively well behaved. Motorists were cooperative with the road closures and traffic control required for the fireworks display.

In the Wednesday and Thursday stepped up traffic patrol, known as "saturation" 107 citations were issued, with the majority, around 95 percent of those stopped, for speeding violations, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

On Friday afternoon and evening, police officers from the Reno and Sparks Police Departments, deputies from the Washoe, Lyon and Douglas County Sheriff’s Offices, and troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol will conduct a DUI road block on Highway 50 in Douglas County near Lake Tahoe. A DUI checkpoint Sunday night at Stewart and Spear streets led to one person being arrested for driving under the influence, 24 citations issued for traffic violations, and one vehicle towed, said McDaniel.
On Tuesday night a saturation patrol of William Street and Fairview Drive led to the arrest of one person on a warrant, 29 citations issued, and five vehicles towed.

Of the 727 vehicles that went through the checkpoint, three were impounded, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel. Deputies issued 20 citations for various offenses, made one warrant arrest, one DUI arrest, and one arrest for driving with a revoked / suspended license.

The check point will be held in Incline Village and is being funded by a Joining Forces grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety.
Due to the fireworks display and other special events planned at Lake Tahoe, a large increase in both vehicular and pedestrian traffic expected during the holiday, said NHP Sgt. Scott Farmer.

The log indicates that the suspect may have injured himself during the robbery, as an officer reported discovering blood.
