I haven’t been riding my bike though, and it’s awfully hard to write about something I’m not actively engaged in. After years of tuning-up my bike, it was time to tune-up my body.

Why is the Nye Regional Medical Center closing its doors?
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 07/11/2012 - 4:23pmI am writing to you about the recent statement about the Nye Regional Medical Center closing it doors if they don't get some help from the County or State. I enclosing a letter that explains why the state or county should allow it to close. There is serious mismanagement that has been going on for the last 4 years. Even through its the only health care facility's within a 100 plus miles still as a employee of the hospital I have witness many wrong doings and the placing of key personnel in positions that they would never be able to hold in any other hospital or clinic.

Movie Review: 'The Vow' mostly in vain
Submitted by admin on Fri, 02/17/2012 - 4:14pmThe film"The Vow," currently on view at the Fandango Galaxy theater in Carson City, is a good bad film. The bad is the sweetness-loaded script and the apparently rock-dumb male lead, Channing Tatum, as Leo Collins. The good is co-star Rachel McAdams as Paige Collins. This is billed as a romantic comedy, ideal as a "date" outing. Maybe, but ...
Movie opens with a brief scene of now then goes back to five years earlier when Paige and Leo exchanged vows in a yuppie-like wedding. Thus, "The Vows."

Movie Review: Spielberg's 'War Horse' a warm but bitter tale
Submitted by admin on Tue, 01/03/2012 - 4:35pmDirecor-producer Steven Spielberg's film "War Horse," currently showing at the Fandango Galaxy cineplex in Carson City and elsewhere, is fine movie making, with a splendid cast. Movie Review: 'Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 1' slow but exactly what the fans want

It's called 'Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 1," and it brings back most of the cast of the earlier movies, although this is P-13 stuff with a lot of eroticism as well as all those fanged wolves. A teen film it is not, but you can bet a lot of teens are going to see it.
