Saturday, October 12

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the final V&T Railway train rides of the 2019 season, the 27th annual Carson City Pumpkin Patch at Seeliger Elementary School, fundraisers around town, coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum, comedy at the Carson Nugget and more!

Heading into Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 and we're looking at continued sunshine and cool temperatures, with some warming in time for the weekend. Activities ahead around the capital city feature a workshop by Carson City TRIAD to prepare residents for Medicare open enrollment, a Muscle Powered led afternoon hike at Sedge Road, the grand opening of My Place Hotel, modern western square dancing lessons, art showings, library activities and more. Enjoy the day.

Happy Saturday, Carson City! We're going to have a warm day in the low 70s, so be sure to throw on your t-shirts which may be the last time this fall (barring the typical end of November inexplicable heat wave).

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 30th annual Outhouse Races in Virginia City, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in Carson City, Fright Night at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, Oktoberfest at the Casino Fandango, the 26th annual 'Making a Difference' Golf Tournament and much more!

Sunny skies ahead as we edge closer to the weekend with activities lined up for Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 around Carson City including modern western square dancing lessons, an afternoon hike led by Muscle Powered along the Virginia and Truckee north trail, art showings, library activities and more. Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of jam-packed activities over the next three days. Events include the 100th annual Candy Dance in Genoa, the Carson City Community Center Garage Sale, free walks at Nevada State Parks, Virginia City’s Street Vibrations Fall Rally, the 31st annual All-Breed Dog Shows, The Beatles Flashback tribute band concert and much more!

Heading into Thursday and the final stretch of the work week, it is shaping up to be eventful around the capital city area featuring a morning hike along Clear Creek hosted by Muscle Powered, activities at the Carson City Library, western square dancing offered through Carson City Parks and Recreation, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, Ladies' Night Out at Gather, a volunteer information hour and training hosted by Carson City's CASA, a lecture entitled "100 Years Later: The 1919 Transcontinental Military Motor Convoy" featured at the Nevada State Museum, and more.

Events include the Rockabilly Riot car show, Dayton Valley Days, a pancreatic cancer awareness walk at Silver Oak Golf Course, the annual Pooch Plunge at the Carson Aquatic Facility, horse endurance races in Virginia City, history talks at Mormon Station Park and much more!

Coming up on the final stretch of the work week, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 is shaping up to be eventful around the capital city area, including a morning Tahoe Rim Trail hike hosted by Muscle Powered, a meeting of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, a Status of Women in Nevada meeting at the Carson Nugget, activities at the library including the first in a series of Job Seeking With Google workshops, plus the first of the three-day Rockabilly Riot car show at Mills Park and more. It’s going to get hot again today with a high of 93, but don’t worry, as we get out further into the week the weather will turn more autumnal with highs in the 70s. It could be the last hot day for a while, at least until a freak 90s+ hot day in November followed by a week long blizzard, so enjoy it while it’s here!

Events include the Silver State Art Festival at Fuji Park, suicide awareness walks in Carson City, a Celtic faire at Dangberg Home Ranch, the ninth annual Edible Pedal bike ride at Bowers Mansion, train rides in Virginia City and much more!

Heading into Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, events around the capital city region include a morning hike at Lake Tahoe, a Healthy Communities meeting in Virginia City, a cross-country convoy of vintage military vehicles that will make a stopover at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, activities at the Carson City Library, book author presentations at the Nevada State Library and Archives and the Brewery Arts Center, food trucks at Mills Park and more. Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days, including HopeFest9 on Friday, dirt bike races at Fuji Park, a job fair at Eagle Valley Children's Home, and the final weekend of the Jazz and Beyond festival and Levitt AMP outdoor concert series at the Brewery Arts Center.

Coming up on Thursday, August 22, 2019, we can expect continued sunny skies with a daytime near 90. Among upcoming events: Thursday is the final day of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center. Take in a film screening and talk to the filmmakers who made them. There's a Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City lunch connect at Red's Old 395 Grill, plus Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park and a volunteer expo hosted by Leadership Douglas County. There's also a discussion about aviation history and trends at the Nevada State Museum, a Carson City GOP information meeting on Block Chain technology, Jazz and Beyond music festival events and more. Among events for the day, there will be a wreath remembrance ceremony for fallen Carson City law enforcement officers at the sheriff's office, a Muscle Powered morning hike, art showings, and a meeting of the Status of Women in Nevada group at the Carson Nugget.
