Heading into the final weekend of October, Halloween and Nevada Day events will keep revelers busy through Sunday making for a jam packed weekend of fun for families and grownups around the Carson City region.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. Dozens of fundraisers, including the Benson’s Feed 4 Paws 4-H group, will be scattered throughout the Carson City and Gardnerville areas. Fall-themed train rides from the Virginia Truckee Railroad Company and the Nevada State Railroad Museum will be available on Saturday and Sunday. A virtual “Light After Dark” fitness event will be held on Saturday to support the Carson City-based Advocated to End Domestic Violence program. Heading into the weeknd, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City area. Lions Club kicks off its annual “White Cane Days” Saturday and Sunday in Carson City to increase awareness of the white cane traffic safety laws, and collect used eyeglasses for distribution to those in need. Local business Wizard of Pawz grooming salon hosts a socially-distanced grand opening on Saturday afternoon, followed by a pool tournament at Bulldog Billiards at 6 p.m. Combined with live music and karaoke, the state capitol will be packed with excitement! The Carson City Symphony, directed by David Bugli, will open its 37th season with a virtual community music and dance project celebrating Carson City history, the “Hank Monk Schottische” virtual performance project. Instrumental musicians and dancers of all ages are invited to participate.

The community is invited to sing Messiah along with choir, orchestra and world-class soloists during the live-stream Mormon Tabernacle Choir 2018 Easter Concert on Friday, March 23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City.

A pre-concert feed starts at 6 p.m. The full live-stream event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Silver City is inviting the public to a free event in the park on Saturday, August 19th. It's a potluck picnic from 5pm-9 pm with live music and some very special programming as well. Organizers say everyone is welcome.

Under the direction of Richard Doede, the Capital City Community Band will perform its annual “FREE Spring Concert” Sunday, May 21st, 2017 at 3:00pm, Western Nevada College, Aspen Building – Carson Nugget Hall (formerly “Sarah Winnemucca Hall”), 2201 West College Parkway, Carson City, Nevada. Into every life a little rain must fall, and we just got plenty. The tulips and lilac blooming around town will be pleased.
