Reno Philharmonic brings on experienced marketing professional Linda Danaher

Linda Danaher recently joined the Reno Philharmonic Association as marketing director. Danaher is an experienced marketing professional, owning her own successful company, Danaher Design, LLC, since 2003.

A graduate of Parsons, The New School for Design, Danaher has worked in high-profile positions such as Senior Art Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in New York, as well working with organizations such as Avis, American Parkinson Disease Assoc., and Snug Harbor Cultural Center.

Reno Philharmonic Classix 5 welcomes violinist Chloë Hanslip, pays tribute to global music

Internationally renowned violinist Chloë Hanslip brings her extensive repertoire to the Reno Philharmonic Association’s Classix Five. At 24, the British violinist is firmly established on the international stage. Since her BBC debut in 2002, she has performed regularly at major venues in England, Europe, United States and the Far East. The Classix Five concert set is Feb. 15 and 17, 2015 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, in Reno, Nev.

Reno Philharmonic Orchestra offers free Family Concert highlighting young talent

The concerts are part of the Reno Philharmonics’ education and outreach initiatives, providing music education, enrichment and exposure to thousands of Washoe County and greater Truckee Meadows school children.

'Home means Nevada' to Reno Philharmonic: Classix Two celebrates Nevada's 150th Birthday

The Reno Philharmonic Association celebrates Nevada's sesquicentennial with a Nevada 150th signature event dedicating the entire performance to the state during its Classix Two concert set for Oct. 11, 12 and 14, 2014 at the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts, Reno, Nev. This milestone performance marks the first full orchestral and choral arrangement of the state’s song, "Home Means Nevada."

Reno Philharmonic seeks video submissions for 'Home Means Nevada' concert set

As part of the Reno Philharmonic Association’s celebration of Nevada's sesquicentennial, the orchestra features a special arrangement of “Home Means Nevada” by David Bugli, originally composed by Bertha Raffetto, during its Classix Two concert set, a Nevada 150th Signature event.

The Reno Philharmonic is now seeking video submissions of “Home Means Nevada” performances from schools and music groups across the state to include as part of a video montage of submitted performances during the concert.

Six weeks after tickets went on sale, The Polar Express™ has officially sold out, according to the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau.
More than 7,500 riders will board the magical holiday train on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, the only officially licensed Polar Express event in the region this holiday season.

Carson City Symphony presents 'French Passion' concert

The Carson City Symphony, directed by David Bugli, will present a concert, "French Passion," on Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Carson City Community Center.
The concert features guest violinist Andrew Sords in a performance of Eduoard Lalo's "Symphonie espagnole." This all-French program, suitable for people of all ages, also includes Georges Bizet's "L'Arlesienne Suite No. 1" and Gabriel Faure's "Dolly Suite."
Pre-concert entertainment begins at 3 p.m. in the lobby and a Meet-the-Soloist preview begins at 3:15 p.m. in the Sierra Room.
