Building a Better Community

The Northern Nevada Dream Center in partnership with Carson City Foursquare Church at Mark Twain Elementary School are hosting a "Back To School Drive-thru Bash" for all elementary school students needing school supplies and whose families are unable to afford purchasing those items themselves.

Saturday, April 22 is Earth Day, an event that was first observed in 1970 and now encompasses over 190 countries around the globe. Muscle Powered will be doing its part to help make Carson City, and in turn the world, a better place by holding a Trash Mob on Earth Day.

April showers are bringing some unusual blooms to the Legislative lawn. Join Prevent Child Abuse Nevada and Advocates to End Domestic Violence in the annual planting of the pinwheels. We should have a break from the rain by then, but it’ll still be a windy day. Stick around downtown for a special tour of our historic Capitol with Muscle Powered. The Carson City Library would like to invite the entire community to participate in a city-wide reading initiative throughout the month of April with the theme of “Building a Better Community.” The 2017 Capital Reads program will focus around three titles:
