Senator Square: Fellowship of Christian Athletes thanks Carson City community for support
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 01/05/2020 - 8:58amNot only did the nonprofit organization Fellowship of Christian Athletes open their Christmas tree lot Nov. 24 to raise funds for their organization’s events and outreaches, they also supported other organizations and individuals by giving away 350 Angel Tree Christmas stockings and Christmas trees to Carson City children and families in need, and they also partnered with Sierra Lutheran High School to donate 75 trees to the US Marines at the Warfare Training Center in Coleville, Calif.
The Brewery Arts Center launches 'School of Rock, Senior Years' in Carson City
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 01/04/2020 - 12:10pmWith almost 15 percent of the population of Carson City being at least 65 years of age or older, the Brewery Arts Center announces its newest project geared towards that sector, School of Rock: Senior Years.
This exciting new program will begin in January of 2020 and BAC will train, house and facilitate a choir who will learn and perform rock, pop, hip-hop and surf music comprised entirely of people over the age of 65. The choir will meet in our beautiful Grand Ballroom under the direction of James Rossi.

Carson City Historical Society spearheads campaign to save Adele's building

The board voted to pursue a fund raising campaign to work with the community to preserve the 155 year-old Adele’s building at 1112 North Carson Street, Carson City, Nev.

Who could forget the incredible sounds and imagery of Cab Calloway and his hot Jazz Orchestra!

So I went to the Jubilate Holiday Concert in Truckee to cheer myself up and put a spring back in my step. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made.

Home Instead Senior Care offers heartfelt 'Thank you' to volunteers for wrapping presents

End of an Era: Creator and founder of Downtown Carson City Santa Parade retires

The Santa Parade was created in 2007 and was always the Saturday after the Silver and Snowflake festival originating at Telegraph Square to bring awareness to the existing businesses in the area.
