Senator Square: A symphony of students perform at UNR’s Nightingale Hall

Judges from Sacramento and the Bay Area rated this group alongside similar groups from the Reno and Sparks area.

All schools were given the same case construct and asked to create their own take on it, presenting it as an attorney and a witness would in a real court case.

I feel compelled to include the disclaimer that all of the following events are subject to change: this storm has the potential to wreak some havoc, so stay safe out there. Kids with cabin fever will enjoy story time at the Carson Library. Adults, get out of the house and enjoy some live music at Living the Good Life or Sassafras. Local McDonald’s restaurants hope to see you this evening: a fundraiser for the family of Ashley Bursey runs from 4 p.m.

Nevada Department of Agriculture awarded $2 million FDA food safety grant

Born on March 14, 1930 in Bolckow, MO, Drusilla spent her life in California, Nevada and Virginia. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she had an unwavering and steadfast devotion to her family and to the Lord. Drusilla’s belief in goodness, her sense of optimism, and her belief that everything would be all right was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Carson City Arrowhead 4-H livestock members excel at Reno show
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 06/15/2016 - 8:59amCongratulations to the 18 Arrowhead 4-H Livestock members who participated in the 2016 Nevada Junior Livestock Show last month at the Reno Livestock Events Center. Club members raised and participated in classes in beef, goat, sheep, swine, dairy, quiz bowl and herdsmanship.
All members were required to take classes and be current in their Quality Assurance tests prior to showing in their species. Several members in the club raised and showed 2 species for the 2016 show year. See the list of ribbon and place winners below:
Western Nevada College graduates record number

In a first, 27 graduates are high school students who participated in WNC’s Jump Start College program. These students are to receive their associate degrees prior to receiving their high school diplomas.
Carson High theatre arts announces 'Drammy Award' winners and Thespian inductees

Several Carson City area students were acknowledged for excellence in performance both onstage and off, and many were given special honors including induction into the International Thespian Society, Received CHS Letters, and more.

Four of the five were arrested at 5:58 a.m. during a high risk traffic stop involving a black Camaro at the intersection of Harbin and Musser streets in Carson City.
