Nevada Humane Society: Saving injured Tiny Tim found on the side of the road Christmas Eve
Submitted by editor on Thu, 12/29/2016 - 6:07pmAs I contemplate the topic of this week’s Animal Files Column, I struggle. The reason is because the story that I am going to share is based off secondhand information. I don’t know whether it’s true or false. The ethical part of me doesn’t want to put misinformation out there. The other part of me knows that this story is spreading like wildfire on social media and that people are already forming their own opinions.

City Staff and the 1/8 cent Tax Scam
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 01/24/2014 - 11:01amI am adamantly opposed to the 1/8 cent tax increase to fund proposed city projects. I resent the efforts of city staff to “bundle” these projects, falsely represent them as necessary, and, by omission, deceive voters as to the true costs of these efforts. While at the work shop on January 21st, no one could tell me where the tax budget shortfall was for these projects, and there was no clearly demonstrable need.
