Carson City's Richards Crossing helps Nevada Rural Housing Authority win national award

More Nevadans now eligible for down payment assistance

Since the programs started in 2014, the income limit has been $95,500. In keeping with Nevada’s rising incomes, the limit has been raised three percent to $98,500.

Carson City Vet Council discusses changes at meeting

Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell and City Manager Nick Marano, both veterans, attended Wednesday's meeting and highlighted changes to the city's new, improved web site scheduled to go public by the end of May.

Reno real estate sales climb in third quarter
Submitted by editor on Mon, 10/13/2014 - 11:08amThe Reno-area real estate market continues to rebound in the third quarter, with a 9 percent rise in sales volume and 14 percent jump in median home price, according to a Lake Tahoe-based real estate firm.
Home prices in Carson Valley were up, with a 10 percent jump in median price ($275,500) and six percent rise in average price ($315,115). Sales volume, however, was down three percent and units sold was down eight percent.

Carson senior goes extreme with coupons; collects items for local veterans

Dallas Burnett, a Carson High School senior, managed to find, clip, cut, and ultimately save $818.56 in grocery and household items that he donated to the Veterans Guest House in Reno.

Four years in the planning, the project will replace the aging Tahoe Biltmore Casino in Crystal Bay, NV with an eco-friendly, mixed-use resort that will significantly reduce stormwater pollution and vehicle emissions associated with the site.
