Carson City arrests: Man stopped for not having license plates jailed for meth possession
A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team for suspicion of multiple felony drug and misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report states.
Kristopher Joseph Glick of Reno was taken into Dec. 27 at 1:36 p.m. in at the area of Highway 50 following a traffic stop on a Cadillac sedan that didn't have license plates.
During the traffic stop, the man told deputies he didn't have his wallet on him, and that he had recently bought the vehicle. He was unable to provide proof of insurance. Deputies ran the vehicle and the man through a wants and warrants check and learned the man's driver's license was suspended for a prior failure to appear warrant.
Glick was arrested due to driving on a suspended license, for not having proof of insurance, license plates and registration.
An inventory of the vehicle prior to tow alerted deputies to the following: a small baggie of meth in the glove compartment, a small clear baggie of methamphetamine in a black binder, methamphetamine and paraphernalia in a tin cookie container, prescription only drugs in which he didn't have a prescription and a jar of marijuana that weighed 1.38 ounces.
He was arrested for two counts suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription and misdemeanor paraphernalia, along with four misdemeanor traffic related violations. Bail amount listed: $9,635.
In other arrests:
— A 51-year-old transient, Donald Harold Schnall, was arrested Friday, in the 500 block of North Carson Street for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Idaho for drug and firearm offenses. Additionally, the State of Idaho had worked with Nevada to issue a Governor's Retake warrant as well. Both warrants were confirmed and he was placed into custody. He was also found to be in possession of a small amount of methaphetamine and a pipe. No bail hold, awaiting extradition.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man, Derrick Durell Cooper, was arrested Saturday, 6:53 a.m. in the 3800 block of Highway 50 for felony parole violation. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the area for a domestic dispute. The man was located at a convenience store. Dispatch advised the man was on Nevada State Parole and Probation with a condition not to drink alcohol. He had been released from jail around 6 hours prior. The man provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .113 and was arrested, as requested by parole and probation for violation of conditions. No bail hold.
— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday in the 200 block of West Caroline Street for a misdemeanor violation of bail conditions warrant. Bail: $3,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 27 for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, speeding and driving without a valid license, a sheriff's deputy report states.
According to the arrest report, a sheriff's office Special Enforcement Team sergeant observed a vehicle pass him going 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. The officer made a traffic stop and observed the man had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, had slight slurred speech and red watery eyes. The man said he had consumed around 5 drinks that day. He agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .133 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI, and the traffic offenses. Bail amount listed: $1,349.
