Carson City emergency crews respond to brush fire on North Carson Street
UPDATE 8:32AM: A small brush fire was extinguished Thursday morning in a field next to Greater Nevada Credit Union on North Carson Street. The cause of the 20 by 20 foot fire was likely from a nearby homeless camp, said Carson City Fire Department Capt. Scott Baker.

Emergency dispatch reported a brush fire shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday morning off North Carson Street next to Greater Nevada Credit Union near the Arrowhead Drive/Medical Parkway intersection.
Carson City Fire Department crews are on scene and reporting the fire, located in a vacant lot just north of and adjacent to the credit union, was about 10 yards by 10 yards in size when they arrived.
According to emergency crews on scene, there appears to be a homeless encampment in the area, and the fire may have been from a camp fire.
