Carson City man tied to 2016 large meth bust held on $1 million bail

A 35-year-old Carson City man arrested in August 2016 as part of a large methamphetamine ring run in Carson City and in California was booked into jail Wednesday with $1 million cash bail for a failure to appear warrant and a parole and probation violation, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Hugo Diaz-Lizarraga was booked at 7:30 p.m. for the First Judicial Court warrant out of Carson City. The warrant is associated with an August 2016 drug bust in which Diaz-Lizarraga and five others were arrested after nearly 4 pounds of methamphetamine was seized in a Tri-Net drug task force raid at a Carson City home. Arrest warrants were executed in Carson City and the Bakersfield, Calif., area.

The warrant was issued Oct. 23, 2017 out of Carson City District Court for failure to appear on a charge of trafficking a schedule 1 controlled substance, 28 grams or more, a category A felony. He was brought to Carson City by Prisoner Transportation Services.
