Douglas County Sheriff's Office: School threat identified, quickly resolved
MINDEN — On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to a threat received by the “Safe Voice” call line. The threat was specific to Douglas High School faculty and students.
The Safe Voice Coordinator from the Nevada Division of Investigations and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers worked together to quickly identify the juvenile(s) involved.
Members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the juvenile(s) residence where one juvenile was immediately arrested for making threats against the school.
The Sheriff’s Office works closely with the School District to ensure the safety and security of the students and faculty.
Sheriff Dan Coverley wants to ensure the community that any threats to the schools and/or students and faculty, such as this will, be responded to quickly and aggressively.
