Governor Sandoval, First Lady prepare to host Nevada Day and Halloween festivities
Gov. Brian Sandoval and First Lady Kathleen Sandoval are scheduled to participate in the 2016 Nevada Day festivities and will host trick or treating at the Governor’s Mansion, an annual Halloween tradition celebrated by Nevada's top leaders.
The Governor and First Lady will ride in a classic 1919 Pierce-Arrow automobile in Saturday’s parade in Carson City and be joined by Douglas County Sheriff’s Explorers. The Explorers will carry a banner replica of the state’s new standard issue “Home Means Nevada” license plate.
The Nevada Day parade will be the official debut of the plate which reflects the diverse landscape found across the Silver State. The Explorer’s will also carry banners that will display the new “Welcome to Nevada” road signs which were designed by talented artists from local high schools. Following the parade, the First Family will open the Nevada Governor’s Mansion for public tours from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
