Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man busted for disorderly conduct after show of aggression
A 37 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday afternoon in the area of North Roop Street and East College Parkway for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said, after he had been displaying aggressive behavior in public.
According to the report, law enforcement was dispatched to the area on report of a verbal altercation involving a male who had removed his shirt and belt, was waving them around and hitting the ground with the objects.
A Sheriff's deputy made contact with the suspect, who was observed on the sidewalk yelling and waving his arms in the air toward another person.
When law enforcement directed the man to sit down, he complied. He told the deputy that he was tired of people making fun of him and the other person was trying to pick a fight with him, the report said.
The suspect said he removed his shirt and belt, then began swinging his belt around and hitting it on the ground in a show of self-defense. He reported being bipolar, and that he had a right to defend himself.
A pedestrian witness told the deputy that they heard both subjects yelling "f--- you" at one another, the report said, but there was no physical contact between them.
The witness reported that the suspect appeared to be the aggressor of the two, the report said.
The suspect was subsequently handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $150.
