Suspect connected to morning robbery at Winnie Lane bar now in custody
A suspect believed to be connected to a robbery Wednesday morning at a Carson City bar is now in custody after he had barricaded himself inside a College Parkway apartment, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said.
The suspect, Nick Morrow, 30, who was barricaded inside an apartment at 20 College Parkway, was brought out after 9 p.m. with the use of low impact pepper balls in a situation with Carson City Sheriff's Office and other assisting agencies that lasted for more than an hour, said Furlong.
One other male, identified as Donald Morrow, 27, is in custody on suspicion of obstructing an officer. He fled the apartment and was later caught.
At 6:30 a.m. Carson City Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery at the Crossroads Lounge located in the 300 block of East Winnie Lane.
Two suspects forced their way into the business while an elderly woman was cleaning inside, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Capt. Brian Humphrey. The suspects took her purse and other items from the business.
The woman received minor injuries from broken glass declining medical attention.
