One arrested for DUI following hit and run crash in Carson City
Two traffic accidents resulting in injuries were reported Thursday night in Carson City. One person was jailed following one of the crashes, reported as a hit and run at the intersection of Roop and 5th Street.
In the crash, reported at 8:15 p.m. a white Pontiac Sunfire was seen leaving the intersection after the collision. Carson City deputies caught up to a damaged car that fit the description on Highway 50 East and arrested one for suspected DUI, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel. A woman was injured in the accident. Traffic was re-routed around the accident scene.
Earlier Thursday night there was an accident at Pheasant and Fairview streets involving two Jeep Cherokees that sent one woman to the hospital with injuries sustained after the airbag in the vehicle she was driving deployed, Sgt. McDaniel said. The accident was reported at around 5:30 p.m.
There was an accident reported at 8:33 p.m. near Saliman and Rand streets. Details were unavailable.
