Carson City sheriff's log: Arrests made for DUI, domestic battery
A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Sunday in the 1200 block of North Roop Street for misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence, running a red light and speeding, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy conducting an area check heard tires skidding in the parking lot near a casino. He watched the light colored vehicle leave the parking lot and drive eastbound on Telegraph at a high rate of speed. The sedan then turned north on Stewart Street.
The officer followed it and watched it go through the red light at the intersection of Stewart and William streets as it turned onto William. The officer conducted a traffic stop and met with the driver.
He observed a strong odor of alcohol from the woman, who spoke with slurred speech. The officer asked if she had been drinking. She said she had and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, displaying signs of being intoxicated. She provided a preliminary breath test of .184 and was arrested at 3:11 a.m. At jail she provided evidentiary breath tests of .183 and .203. Bail: $1,312.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:21 a.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of bail conditions. He had been drinking and was intoxicated while being on Alternative Sentencing with a condition not to drink. He provided a preliminary breath test of .173. Bail: $3,000.
— A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 11:23 p.m. in the 1700 block of Carson Street on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, a man and woman were in a verbal confrontation while drinking at a motel.
The man told the officer his girlfriend was yelling at him because he has been unable to find employment.
The argument escalated and the woman allegedly slapped the man several times with open hands. The man said he did not touch the woman in any way, the arrest report states. An independent witness stated they saw the woman strike the man with an open hand several times on his upper body. The woman said she didn’t recall what happened because she was intoxicated. Bail: $3,137.
