Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrests: Two jailed in separate drug-related investigations
An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Russell Christopher Alfano was taken into custody in the 1400 block of North Saliman Road at 3:29 a.m. According to the arrest report, a deputy made consensual contact with the man who was inside a parked vehicle in the parking lot of a closed veterinary clinic.
Upon approaching the vehicle the officer could smell an overwhelming odor of marijuana. The officer asked the man if he had any marijuana or anything illegal in the vehicle and the man stated no.
The officer advised he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The man opened the center console of his vehicle and removed multiple bags containing a moderate amount of marijuana, the arrest report states.
The man also removed a brown paper bag containing a pink glass pipe used for smoking marijuana. The officer asked if there were any other illegal items in the vehicle and he stated inside his trunk, and provided the officer consent to search the vehicle.
Located inside the trunk was a backpack that contained a plastic container with a small amount of marijuana, scale and multiple clear plastic bags, the arrest report states.
The officer asked what the scale and plastic bags were used for and that stated that he occasionally sells marijuana, the arrest report states.
