Carson City deputies make drug, domestic battery and restraining order violation arrests

Two men were arrested early Friday morning for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and other charges, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team deputy said.

Anthony Braceful, 31, and Jose Majano-Alvarez, 30, were arrested in the 1100 block of Old Clear Creek Road. Both also face misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

During a search of a vehicle, deputies located a testable amount of methamphetamine in baggies, a small amount of black tar heroin on the tip of a knife, and, in a backpack, 14, 10mg Cyclobenzaprine and 13, 5mg Cyclobenzaprine tablets without a prescription.

Braceful was also arrested for gross misdemeanor possession of a prescription drug without a prescription. Bail for Braceful: $6,137. Bail for Alvarez: $3,637.

In other arrests:
— A Carson City man, Bruce Meyer, was arrested Thursday, 1:26 a.m. in the area of Dori and Sherman for felony suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 2:27 p.m. in the 700 block of Fleischmann Way for misdemeanor suspicion of battery. Bail: $1,137.

— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 3:54 p.m. for misdemeanor domestic battery with a prior conviction after an incident at an East John Street apartment complex.

According to the arrest report, the victim came home to find the suspect under the influence and foaming at the mouth. She feared for his safety, thought he had alcohol poisoning as he would not wake up. She told deputies she began to shake and slap him in the face to get him to wake up.

The victim explained to deputies the incident and provided video that she took. The video showed what the victim had explained to deputies as she was trying to wake her boyfriend. The boyfriend, who woke up, slapped her twice in the face and told her to kill herself, the arrest report states.

Carson City Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and determined to transport the heavily intoxicated man, who had trouble standing on his feet under his own power, the arrest report states.

While the man was in transport to the hospital, dispatch advised Carson City Fire Department stopped at Arrowhead Drive and Carson Street because the man became violent with fire department personnel. The man was handcuffed, put in a sheriff’s patrol unit and transported to the hospital, the arrest report states.

The man was determined to be the primary aggressor. After he was medically cleared by Carson Tahoe Hospital he was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery and taken to jail. Bail: $5,137.

— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 8:54 a.m. in the area of Stewart and John streets for suspicion of DUI, speeding and not having a driver’s license in possession.

According to the arrest report, a deputy assigned to the Special Enforcement team observed a sedan without a license plate going northbound on Stewart Street. The deputy followed the driver, who was going approximately 46 mph in a 35 mph zone. The vehicle changed lanes without signaling and cut off another vehicle north of Washington and Stewart streets.

The deputy made a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who had slurred but deliberate speech, and stated she had not been drinking.

The officer asked her to exit the vehicle. As the officer spoke he could smell alcohol coming from her person. The woman admitted to drinking two shots and a beer, the arrest report states.

She agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .097 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail she consented to evidentiary breath tests with results of .074 and .072. Bail: $1,279.

— An 18-year-old Jackson, Calif., man was arrested Thursday, 7:51 p.m. in the area of Snyder Avenue and Gentry Lane for a misdemeanor warrant issued Nov. 14, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.

— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 8:27 a.m. in the area of 20 College Parkway for misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order and a contempt of court warrant. The man allegedly sent 14 text messages to the victim, a violation of the protection order.

Bail for the TPO violation, $3,137. He was being held without bail on the contempt of court charge.
